Digg have updated its Search functionality in a big way. They have shreded their traditional search button and replaced it with the new and improved search bar.
New and Improved Functionality
Plus they have added some new functionalities which are specific to the Social Bookmarking Site. It is going to give users with innovative ways to get relevant Search Result to the top of their Search Results. Here are some advance search tips..
- Use “+b” to search for buried stories
- Use “+p” to search for promoted stories
- Use “+np” to search for non promoted stories
- Use “+u” to search for upcoming stories
- Wrap “keywords” in quotes to search for them in stories
- Use “-keyword” to search for stories that do not contain them
The new Digg Search Results Page
The new Digg Search Results Page is great and shows relevant with various options to play with. You can narrow down your search results between “Best Match”, “Most Dugg” and “Newest First”.
On the left hand side of the Search Results Page you have various options where you an filter your results like
- Timeline – Last Day, Last 7 days and Last Month
- Topics – List of Topics under which the Stories appear
- Number of Diggs – Filter by number of Diggs the stories get
- Media – Like Photos, Video, News
