Choosing a Domain Host for WordPress
For installation of WordPress, all it is needed is a MYSQL Database version 4.0 or higher and PHP version 4.3 or higher. WordPress recommends a few sites which have custom packages to install WordPress with one click.
Best among them are BlueHost and DreamHost. I do not recommend GoDaddy as a lot of my friends had bad experience with them.

WordPress.com is a Web Service which lets users host their free blogs on there server. It is a customized WordPress Multi User Installation allowing thousands and thousands of WordPress Blogs hosted for free.
WordPress.org on the other hand is the place to Download WordPress Software (both single user and multi user versions), free themes, free plug-ins, User Community and Documentation. Here you can download the latest version and install it on your Website by following the tutorials mentioned below.

In the choosing domain host section, you said people should avoid godaddy. Godaddy is cheaper and free to register. Before choosing a web host, the buyer has to make a list of what she need in a web host.
I like godaddy because it is the web host most webmasters use to transfer domains among each other.
Sure Godaddy is a good host. I said “I do not recommend it” Reason been a few of my friends had bad experience with GoDaddy including account ban for no reason.
Although if you are solely into Flipping Websites and Domains then GoDaddy is a better alternative than others.
